Badrul Chowdhury is W.S. Lee Distinguished Professor in Electrical & Computer Engineering with joint appointment in Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC), North Carolina, USA. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia, USA. Dr. Chowdhury has contributed to the fundamental analysis, modeling and simulation of renewable and distributed energy resources in power networks especially for resilient operation and planning. He is included in Stanford University's list representing the top 2% of the world's most-cited researchers. Dr. Chowdhury was Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy from 2018 until 2023.

Professor Xi Jiang re-joined the School of Engineering and Materials Science at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) in 2017.
